This year round they have expanded the range a bit to accommodate the growing demand for do it all type of mountain bike. The one I’m going to concentrate today is the shorter travel aluminum variant – the AMS 110 Pro. As the model suggests it is 110 mm travel full bouncer aiming for the occasional racer/ trail center warrior/ endurance event goer First thing first the value for your bob is fantastic. For your £1649 you get more then reasonable spec – Fox forks plus RP23 Boost Valve rear shock combo, Sun Ringle custom color ‘bling’ red anodized tough yet light wheelset, 30 speed Shimano XT/SLX transmission, Formula RX hydraulic stoppers and custom Schwalbe rubber – to highlight the best (for full spec check the spec sheet below). All comes fitted to well finished alloy stunning looking frame boasting many features (check the technology list for details) And the AMS is pretty light for is class and price, weighting only 12.1kg (26.5lb) minus the pedals. The bottom line is that you won’t find better looking/speced/priced full sus bike this year. CUBE say about AMS 110 Pro: Stiff 7005 aluminum frame designed and built with the Advanced Hydroform Process equipped with the new 3×10 Shimano Deore XT and SLX components. 110mm of fully active travel through Efficient Ride Control let you use the AMS 110 Pro for races, marathons or long rides. Cube AMS Technologies: HPA: For high end, we use High Performance 7005 aluminum alloy which has a very low density combined with high strength due to the special alloy and the hardening heat treatment. By triple butting or even quadruple butted tubing, aluminum tubes are reinforced where required and reduced where possible. In addition we use Special tube shapes, manufactured with Hydroform technology to better cope with the directional forces. The low density and high strength as well as the butting and the Hydroform technology enable us to make high performance frames with an ultimate level of stiffness. Efficient Ride Control: Here particular attention has been given to the fact that irrespective of body size EVERY rider can have the optimum and identical riding experience. Here on a model-by-model basis we have differently designed the linkage geometry so that all frame heights have the same travel and suspension ratio (STK).In addition the kinematics have been optimised specifically to travel in respect of sensitivity, drive and no bossing. For this it was necessary to specially position all rear pivot points. Whether the rider is large or small, with any of these models he will always have the optimum ride experience. Hydroforming System: A plain tube is placed in a mould with the specific form. The tube is filled with a mixture of liquids, often an oil mixture, which is put under high pressure. To reach this, separate links had to be developed for each frame size. Fox DTC: Elaborative developed kinematics are only able to function correctly if the associated suspension shocks is properly tuned to it. Connected with the new Fox Float RP23 Boost Valve shock and the DHX RC4 shock, we could achieve the best optimized performance. FSS Frame Save System: To protect our high-end aluminum frames, they are built with the CUBE Frame Save System replaceable derailleur hanger. The thread is in the hanger and not in the frame as usual. In case of a crash, this hanger can be easily and quickly replaced by a new one. Laser Design Surface: On the high performance frames, graphics and texts are laser-cut into the material which makes them indestructible for a lifetime. Wet Paint Surface: On polished and brushed aluminium and all HPC frames the logos and graphics are applied in multi-layer wet paint. We use this surface treatment technology mainly to save weight. Integrated Post Mount: The Postmount breaking absorption makes it possible for us to save extra parts. The not needed IS adapter with bolts saves approx. 30 g. This may not seem much, but it shows the potential comprised in the details. Integrated Cable Routing: Internally routed cables offer many advantages: clean appearance, cables are protected from dirt and therefore have a considerably longer life and the not required external housing saves weight.
